My First Challenge

It is with some anxiety that I announce my participation in my first challenge, The Non-Fiction Five Challenge. I'm feeling anxious because I really like to make my reading decisions depending on my mood, what I've just read, and not have a PLAN to keep to. In view of that, the real challenge for me will be to finish what I've set out to read, since I tend to read a fair amount of non-fiction anyway.

The books I've chosen are all ones I've been interested in for a while and just haven't gotten around to. Here is my list:

1. Because I Said So by Camille Peri and Kate Moss
2. There Is No Me Without You by Melissa Fay Greene
3. Triangle by David Von Drehle
4. Red Azalea by Anchee Min
5. Diana Mosley by Anne de Courcy

Alternates include:

1. Strapless by Deborah Davis
2. Pioneer Women by Joanna L. Stratton
3. Something that may strike my fancy

Hi Tara! Welcome to the Non-Fiction Five challenge! I'm glad you are joining us in the fun. Also, I hope your anxiety melts as you pick up the first book. The challenge really is designed to get others to read non-fiction and in general, stretch us as readers. I don't want you to feel any pressure...it's all for fun. Happy Reading!

Tara ~ I just realized it was you that asked about the "button". All you have to do is right click on any of the Non-Fiction Five images and save it in your pictures...actually it says "My Pictures". Then you can access it just like any other picture from your files to put in your post. I hope that makes sense. If not, we'll try again. Just let me know.

I feel a bit inadequate, I've never heard of any of your choices :) But I've found with non-fiction books I don't really know all that many titles, I guess I need to become more familiar with them!

Joy - thank you, I've figured it out.

Matt - I guess I'm not surprised you've not heard of any of my choices, I tend to read lots of women writers or books about female subjects!

Like Matt, I've never heard of your choices (I admit I'm a little intimidated by Non-Fiction). I wish I could have joined this challenge, but I just found out about it. Good luck with your reads!

I like to read based on my mood as well, but I've found that these challenges help me prioritize my every expanding TBR pile at home.
