Farmers' Market - September 20
I had company again this week at the market. While there, she ate a doughnut and an apple cider popsicle. On the way home she ate a tiny apple that was gifted to her. Lucky girl!
Funny, this doesn't look as heavy as it felt! Peppers, corn, wax beans, leeks, spinach, garlic, meats, and fresh apple cider (!!). Last night we feasted on flank steak, corn on the cob and spinach. I can never believe that you can start with so much spinach and wind up with less than a cup when you cook it.
In exciting news, my new cookbook arrived today. It looks divine and after the first quick browse, I might do something from it tonight. More on Tender later. I see the price has gone up. Nuts.

Yummy! I want some of that spinach!
I love spinach, but never manage to cook enough...it just shrivels down to nothing! Apple cider popsicles??? Now there's something to try.
I love spinach too but you have to buy lots if you want some for leftovers. Creamed spinach is super yummy. Now I want some.
Good haul from the farmer's market. Those wax beans look fab!
apple cider...yum...
Kathy, it was tasty!
JoAnn, apple cider popsicles are amazing! They are my favorite thing at the state fair, or you can make them yourself!
Ti, I am crazy for creamed spinach!
Gentle Reader, I think we'll have those tonight!
bybee, it's my favorite!
You need to make sure that you have extra food this weekend...I'm coming over!!!
Oh I noticed the price rise too and I actually think that I could get this book in Australia for the cheapest I can find it on either of the Book Depository sites which would have to be a record of late. I saw your rating on Librarything - that good huh? :-)
Staci, will do!
Sam, nice that you can just buy it there! Not so much here. I wonder now if the price I paid was a mistake on their part. My rating was probably premature....I was just excited. But it is a fabulous read, and I think you'll get even more from it than me since I know you've grown a larger variety of veggies and he writes a fair amount about that.
