Aren't I predictable? I buy the same things over and over, I suppose because those are the things we all enjoy.
It's pretty obvious at the market that we've barely had temperatures over 80 degrees this July. We're not seeing the 'hot weather' veggies yet, such as eggplant, peppers, sun-ripened tomatoes and the like. I'm growing a variety of small tomatoes in the garden and they are all still green and my zucchini are taking forever to grow. One great thing about this blog, is that I can go back see that for example, last July 10 I had tomatoes from the garden already. It's rather depressing.
Anyhow, tonight, I think we'll grill that rainbow trout you see. I'm not sure what veggies we'll have yet, I'm thinking mashed potatoes with shallots or corn or salad or broccoli. Hmm.

your market pictures always make veggies look so good. I wish I could stomach them.
Everything looks so good! The rainbow trout looks a lot like salmon! We got some grass fed beef and pork this week, along with eggs, corn and lettuce. Still no chickens:-( Hopefully next week.
I haven't been to the farmers' market this year since I discovered an organic farmer around the corner from me. He has a pretty good variety and even grows some heirloom vegetables.
I love your Farmer's Market posts!! I'm not sure I could eat the trout but if you're cooking it then I'm game!! :) We've had day #7 with rain here in Michigan. No really hot temps to speak of so I'm feeling your pain about the tomatoes and the other veggies not being there!!
Everything looks so yummy. Nothing better than fresh eggs and fresh veggies.
It is hot and humid here :(
For some reason I always catch these market posts when I am at my hungriest!! Now I'm craving veggie soup. Must be from looking at all the veggies.
No temperatures over 80 degrees in July. My brain is just trying to process that...
Bree, what do you mean? You don't enjoy veggies at all??
JoAnn, it does - some people behing me were saying, 'oh look at the salmon!'. Your loot sounds good!
bermudaonion, you have really scored with your farmer!
Staci, thanks! Do you not like fish? I just rubbing olive oil and s/p on it and my husband grilled it. My 7 year old went nuts over it. We could use some rain actually, but not 7 days worth. Sheesh!
Diane, thanks!
Ti, veggie soup sounds good!
jennybooks, yep. It's nuts, and it doesn't look like we're going to break 80 this week either. Good for my electric bill, bad for tomatoes.
