Farmers' Market - August 9
I really cannot believe it is August 9. Nuts. Interesting purchases today include the really nice looking eggplant and bok choy. I have a recipe for a raw bok choy salad with an Asian dressing - sound good? I also bought some heirloom tomatoes. I think I bought some brandywine, Cherokee purple, something with valentine in the name...and something else. They all looked like they were grown with love.

Beautiful! Are there dark purple beans mixed in with the yellow and green? I've never seen that color before.
Of course my eye is drawn to the bread. LOL.
heart heart heart
(and stomach)
I just discovered your blog and I think I like your Farmers' Market photos as much as I like your book reviews. As a native of Minnesota I look forward to seeing the produce in your photos change as we get into the fall months. Keep 'em coming.
I love heirloom tomatoes, but you can keep the eggplant.
I love the beans!
JoAnn - yes, those are purple! They are gorgeous. When cooked, they turn dark green.
Ti, good stuff!
Bybee, totally!
Thomas, thanks for stopping by! I also love to watch the changing colors at the market and in my photos, too.
Bermudaonion, I'm not a huge eggplant fan either, I'm going to try something new with it.
Nan, me too!
The tomatoes and beans would go first in my house. In fact, some of those tomatoes might not make it home from the market (yum!)
Dawn, the tomatoes were crazy good!
I just grilled bok choy with a little sesame oil brushed onto it. It was awesome!
Jenny - YUM! that sounds amazing.
