WINNERS: The Little Giant of Aberdeen County (and a cold weather experiment)

The winners are in! I used the random number generator and have already contacted the five winners. But before we get to that, let me tell you something fun you can do at home if it is -20 degrees at your house today! Boil water - I boiled about 1 1/2 cups and transferred it to a cup I didn't care about - and then go outside and throw it into the air (the water, not the cup) - away from yourself. Cool, huh? (For those who sadly cannot perform this experiment, most of the water disappears into a puff when it hits the air.)

And now for the Winners!

Congratulations to :

Kaye

Andi

Becca

Lenore

LK

I hope you all enjoy the book!

Congratulations to the winners. I, for one, am happy I can't do your experiment.

I can't join in on the fun as it is 80+ degrees here.. or will be shortly. My goodness! That is COLD.

Also, how did you find this out? Did you throw hot water at someone or what? LOL.

Awww: I'm sending less-cold weather wishes your way (it's up to 32 here toda).

That sounds like a fun experiment! Alas, cold around here means 40ish degrees. And that is COLD.

Congrats to your winners!

Um...wow...that is COLD! Here it is cold, but not that cold (too bad because that experiment sounds fun!). And YAY I won! Very excited to read this one :)

Congrats to all the other winners. I am totally excited as I really wanted to read this one. Thanks for the contest and I just sent you my address. It's even cold today in FL. It was 45 degrees this morning. Brrrrrrrrr

It's just below zero now, but approaching -20 with windchill.
Maybe we'll entertain ourselves with that little trick later. Congratulations to the winners!

bermudaonion, hehe.

Ti, My husband's co-worker suggested this to him. He grew up here (we did not).

Eva, thank you! 32 sounds amazing.

Carrie K, NOT! 40 degrees is amazing and does not require a coat!

Lenore, yep. Congrats!

Kaye, Let me know what you think of it! My dad lives in Florida and called to make sure we were okay since the news is making such a big deal about it.

JoAnn, lucky you!

I guess I shouldn't be complaining about the weather here in NC, but it is cold for us. Today's high was 22 and the low is 9. Again, that doesn't compare to Minnesota, but our typical high is in the low 50s!

It doesn't get quite that cold. We did have our first cold snap here in Myrtle Beach. For us it was down in the 20's. Talking about Montana, there were a bunch of young kids(20's), walking in shorts and flip flops. I asked what is the reason you dress like that. The answer oh, its not that cold. My opinion is that they want to say they were here and wearing summer clothes in the mid of winter. Any way by today it has warmed up, and it would not have been too bad wearing shorts today. it was raining though, but warmer up to the 50's again. I laugh because the Carolinians call 50 degrees cold. Now to me cold is like it was two days ago, in the 30.

I like your experiment. I will have to remember this one and tell my brother. He lives in NJ.
