GIVEAWAY - MATRIMONY
I am thrilled to be posting my second giveaway, and especially thrilled that I am able to host this giveaway of one signed paperback copy of Matrimony on behalf of Joshua Henkin, author of Matrimony, which was recently released in paperback.
Matrimony was a New York Times Notable Book which I was fortunate enough to read and review back in July.
If you're interesting in learning more about Henkin, here is a wonderful post he wrote about book groups for Books on the Brain.
Here are the rules: leave a comment on this post, and since we are celebrating the paperback release of this book, tell me which you prefer: hardcover or paperback, and why, if you wish. There will be one entry per person. This giveaway of one signed copy of the new paperback edition of Matrimony is open to anyone, anyplace on the globe. I will be drawing the winning name on September 15. Good luck!
P.S. Don't forget to make sure I have your email address!

I prefer paperback when I am reading the book. It is much easier to read and to carry around.
On the other hand, hardcovers really look good on the shelf, but that is not our purpose right? :)
And they are expensive too.
I always prefer paperback because my collection of books is so vast that I must consider the weight of my books.

Well, paperbacks are lighter so cheaper to post (and a bit more portable)!
Hardback, paperback; it makes no difference to me. I love books either way.
Seems like I'm a bit of a sheep, but I love paperback as well. So much easier to hold in the bath/carry on the bus/stuff into a purse.
Hardbacks do look so nice on bookshelves but I must say I prefer paperbacks. Just easier to carry around :)
I don't care either way. Just love the feel of a book, period. Found your blog through Mel's chicklit site. Great blog!!

I love either way. Hardcovers since they look nice on my bookshelves and paperbacks because they are easier to carry around and pack up for moves.

I like the PRICE of paperbacks and the ease of holding while reading.
But HC looks nice on the shelf and it makes the book feel "important"
lol...im a nerd...sorry
But i would love to read this book :)
I like trade paperbacks. I prefer the weight and feel (and the older I get, the more I like the fact that they typically have larger print than the smaller mass market paperbacks). I like the look of hardbacks on my shelf, and I don't mind reading them, but I usually read them naked (sans dustjacket).
Please enter me. Thannk you.

I really don't have a preference! Hardcovers look nicer, but I like the cost of paperbacks better!
I've been waiting for this since you announced it!! As for pb or hc, if I should win, I'll let you decide, Tara. Right now I'm reading a hc that is perfect. It stays open to the page so I don't have to hold it. That's a plus for me, but not all hc books do this. If the covers are different, again, I'll let you choose. If you think it's nice, I will, too. And if I win, you may let the postage cost make your choice! :<)
Thanks for offering this, Tara.
Generally, I prefer trade paperbacks. But if a book is really thick - up over 600 pages, I like a hardcover so it doesn't get too beat up! Thanks for the chance to win MATRIMONY! I've heard so many good things about this book!

paperback all the way! That way, I can just shove it in my bag and go. I like hardcover though, because then it does not get mangled in the mess. But I loathe slipcovers. They just get in the way.
I prefer paperbacks but not the really small sized ones!!
I prefer paperbacks because they're easier and less cumbersome to hold while reading and way more portable. They fit in a handbag easily. Also, I don't have to worry about destroying the dust jacket.
Thanks for the chance to win this book. I want to read it soooo bad!

Thanks for hosting this giveaway.
I prefer paperback to hardback because paperbacks smell a little different from hardcover books. It must be the different paper and different glue. With slight variations, new paperbacks (even the cheapola ones at the checkout counter) have a lovely scent reminiscent of pencil shavings with a delectable under-scent that is a little bit spicy.
