Here are the goods. There are heaps of corn, potatoes, and carrots behind the scenes. I could barely carry everything back to the car. There are other vegetables I'd like to try, but I seem to stick with favorites this time of year.
I'm getting a little nervous that there won't be any frozen tomato sauce this winter. I've barely seen any Roma tomatoes, and last year I used an entire crate. Oh, well. I'll just have to try new recipes, and there's always 2009.

Wow! That looks great. Your farmers' market looks better than ours with eggs and meat. There's nothing better than fresh veggies.
Bermudaonion, we do have a great farmer's market here. The only bad part, is that it's so good, it's absolutely wall to wall people which makes it a bit uncomfortable to shop.
I always love looking at your photos. We enjoy our farmers market every Saturday.

I am jealous! The farmer's market out here is ridiculously expensive and only once a month.

Delicious looking stuff! Tara, I've given up on freezing tomatoes. I buy not-local-or even American, Bionaturae from Italy. I have such good luck with the canned tomatoes and their paste that I switched from my old fave, Muir Glen. The time I used to spend picking, stewing, straining, freezing the tomatoes was just too much, and honestly didn't taste any better. I know it sounds not like me at all, but there it is. :<)

Pink lady bug, the corn has been good this year! We've maining eaten it off the cob so far, soon I'll try some other dishes, like soup and corn pudding, creamed corn...yum!
J Danger, it looks like you are in So. Cal? For some reason I imagine farmers markets all over the place out there! Just a midest misconception, I guess =) I will say, our market is not cheap...I do spend quite a bit there, and the berries are just too pricey for me.
Nan, I think so too! I can completely see your point, and no that doesn't sound like you at all! I have been a diehard Muir Glen fan, so I'll try the brand you mentioned - I've seen them at whole foods.
