I suppose Nigella is not similar to your traditional cuisine, is she? I do really enjoy her writing though, even if I never cooked her recipes (which I do) I'd still read her books for the prose. I think my favorite food writer at the moment is Nigel Slater, another English writer.

Andi, Hi, thanks for stopping by! (It's a bit like having a celebrity!) Thanks so much for your kind words and I agree - free books are the best!

Cath, you know, I like both, or at least my life requires both quick meals and slower ones...I love being able to spend hours in the kitchen but sometimes I just can't yet I still want to prepare something delicious and good for us. I hope Nigella Express is shown here - I generally want to make the recipes after I've seen her make them.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07208766776468157501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5040657217275018769.post-60678604928796166262007-11-08T17:29:00.000-06:002007-11-08T17:29:00.000-06:00I haven't looked at the book of the series but Nig...I haven't looked at the book of the series but Nigella's new 'Express' series on the BBC, was pretty good. Some really good ideas for quick food though I tend to be a slow cook personally. I plan on reading Burney next year as well. And the Delafield, Macaulay and Martineau all look good! I thought it was cool too!

Jennyellen, I also love Nigella's show - I first saw in 2001 when I had a newborn and it was on really early in the morning - now my little one watches it with me!

Lazy cow, this book is much more similar to Nigella Bites and Forever Summer.
